I gasped when I saw this DIY Rug on the Nate Berkus Show! If this doesn’t give you inspiration, I don’t know what will! It looks super easy to do, and the end product is a little bit of interior design eye candy!
I don’t know about you, but I can never find a rug that matches the idea I have in my head. This project solves that problem! Start with a natural fiber rug, and paint it white. Then create a cardboard stencil for the pattern you want and sponge on your other paint color. You can try all sorts of patterns: dots, zeebra, etc.
Here comes the fun part … decorating the rest of your room to match your rug! Maybe get some fab vases like these to put on your mantle.
So, wondering who this gorg house belongs to? Her name is Natalie Cross, and she is from Calgary, Alberta. You are in luck … she has a blog where she has the instruction video for this DIY Rug and lots of other fun interior design projects. You can even see the rest of her house. It’s ah-mazing!! Here’s a little taste …
Her design idea was to bring the beach to her city home. I love the light colors and airy feel! (Photos are from beachhouseinthecity.blogspot.com).
Happy interior designing SaucyPants!
