Bath Apron
Baby in a bath = mess. I thought this bath apron was a genius way to curb this equation. A new mom or dad can wear this while giving baby a bath to avoid the inevitable wet shirt result, and it serves as a great way to wrap baby up when squeaky clean.
What’s needed:
- Terry cloth fabric or a towel of your choosing
- Twill tape
- Double fold bias tape (color to match the towel)
- Sticky ribbon or sew on ribbon
- Stick or iron-on letter embellishment
- Piece of pretty fabric about 6 ” square or circle piece of fabric from dish towel bib (see part 1 post)
On the short side of the towel, using a sewing machine, sew two pieces of twill tape (about 18 inches long), spaced so that they can encircle your giftee’s neck comfortably, about 6 inches apart. Sew them on opposite faces of the towel.
Hold the apron up to your chest, and tie around your neck. Cut off any remaining tape. Machine sew the ends of the tape to finish.
If using the terry cloth fabric rather than a towel, sew bias tape around all edges to finish.

Grab the circle piece from the center cutout of the towel bib (from baby gift blog post part 1) or cut out a circle from another piece of fabric of your choosing. Stick or sew your ribbon across the center of the circle. Stick or iron on your letter embellishment to the center of the circle. Sew bias tape around edges to finish. Then sew the adorned circle onto the bottom half of the bath apron.
